Crystal

In the Crystal series, I use a device called the Crystal Incubator to induce crystallization and incorporate a natural phenomenon into the production process. Through a cyclical procedure—formation, sculptural intervention, and re-crystallization—crystal sculptures emerge in which the natural and the artificial become inseparable. In doing so, the work reveals the possibility that nature’s behavior is not autonomous, but sustained by designed conditions.
